On June 1st 2016, GT-ARC has officially launched an ambitions two-year project called ISCO (An Intelligent Framework for Service Discovery and Composition), funded by the BMBF. ISCO aims to develop an open and extendable platform that provides different stakeholders with access to city objects (in the form of physical devices and/or digital services). Main challenges of such a platform are the scalability of the platform and efficient discovery of smart city objects. ISCO enables stakeholders of different domains to develop and provide novel, efficient and dynamic services, optionally composed of other existing services in the smart city.
